Star Trek Online Open Beta Starts Tomorrow

So I was just fundiddling around on the internet when I went to check out the Star Trek Online site (It was a game I was a bit interested in but not enough to pre-order without playing a bit for myself) when I came across the beta page. I knew they were having a beta but wasn't sure on the details. Apparently Open Beta starts tomorrow, January 12, 2010 with beta keys being given out first-come first-serve.

At this time all I know is to check back to StarTrekOnline.com Tuesday to see what you can find. I'll probably mess around a bit in there and see what it's all about if I can.

Dunno if anyone is even interested or not, but at the moment the only way to get a beta key without having pre-ordered is through a Fileplanet membership. Again, they're going first-come first-serve. I'll post again if I see any place throwing some out there without needing to pay for something.

I myself just decided to drop by GameStop after class and put $5 on the game and they gave me a card. As to whether or not I can cancel my pre-order, I dunno. But if it's good, then it's not a big deal I guess. Still have a few months to save up a little extra cash for Bad Company 2 ;)

The game seems like it could be fun. It kinda reminds me of Freelancer and that game was butt loads of fun

I would have to try a demo first. And even if it turns out to be good, I think I'd still wait to see how many people play it online (I learned from Hellgate to wait on MMO's)

I've played a bit here and there today and yesterday, I have to say it's interesting, but I just honestly am not a big fan of Cryptic's game style. Just not really my taste.
